This past weekend my hometown received its first snowfall since after the warm summer months. Since then it has been snowing steadily ever since. Although the first day of winter doesn’t officially arrive until December 21st, otherwise known as the winter solstice, with the weather dropping, the snow falling and the faint hum of Christmas carols being heard in the distance, it certainly looks and feels like autumn has passed and winter has barged in to take its place.

Winter is a debated season for a variety of reasons. Some people, for example, hate the cold and snow that usually accompanies this season. On the other hand, certain people love this season for the same reasons. Whether you like it or despise it, there’s no denying that winter has come yet again. Therefore, now would be the perfect time to celebrate this chilly season by warming up your home with a beautiful winter-themed garden flag. The glory of winter is that there are so many objects and ideas that are associated during this time of the year that make this season unique and unlike any other. Here are a few examples of what winter brings along so that you can incorporate it into your winter themed garden flag.

Let it Snow

Every country in the world witnesses all four seasons, even though each region encounters each season differently. For instance, many countries located in the northern hemisphere welcoms in the winter season with a pure white glimmer of snow. Some regions receive a pinch of snow while others get buried in a mountain of this winter gift. However, snow is snow and therefore, due to being a synonym of winter, it is a perfect addition to any winter-themed garden flag. There are many ways that you can incorporate snow onto your winter themed garden flag. For instance, you can use images of snow itself such as a beautiful snowflake, a serene snow angel or a smiling snowman.

Holly Jolly Fun

One of the most prominent and distinguished parts of the winter season is the well-celebrated holiday of Christmas. There are many symbols associated with this holiday that won’t only keep you warm, but will also make a gorgeous addition to any winter themed garden flag.

To begin with, images of Santa Claus along with his elves, reindeer and beloved Mrs. Claus, can greatly give any winter-themed garden flag some holly jolly fun. On the other hand, Christmas traditions such as gingerbread houses, Christmas trees, stars, and wrapped gifts, can also be perfect pictures to include on your winter-themed flag. Also, you can choose to celebrate the original meaning of Christmas on your winter-themed garden flag by including the nativity scene in all of its glory.
