Saturday night reading list!

It is 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night and I have had a busy day of cleaning, laundry, getting my pile from work drastically reduced and now I am sitting down to do some reading.  What could I possibly want to be reading about now?

I have seen my first robin and of course my mind goes to spring, and with that I start thinking about ordering seeds for my vegetable garden.

A lot of people have already ordered their seeds and have started them indoors, I am not one of them. I have never had any success with starting my own seeds, so I always buy my seeds now and then closer to planting time, I buy the plants that I want.

In my earlier years of gardening, I would sketch out my garden on a big piece paper and make sure that I was rotating and fertilizing correctly. Now that I have rotated the whole garden many, many times, I just do the planning in my head.

It is exciting to always try something new, to decide how many plants and seed packets that I need and to be checking the canning jars for shortages or overages.

Spring is definitely my favorite season of the year. New birth, new beginnings, new life awakening each and every day. Today, we just received a very large snow storm, here in Wisconsin, up to 8 inches when it is all done. Underneath all that snow, I know are my beautiful tulips, daffodils and leaves ready to break through and reach for the sun.
